Custom Closets & Organizers in Yorba Linda, CA

Yorba Linda takes its name from the Yorba family, early holders of the land, joined to linda, Spanish for pretty. The Janss Investment Company subdivided the old ranch land and began selling it by the acre in 1909, and Pacific Electric trains arrived in 1910, stopping at a depot built the next year. Nathan Brooks put up the first house on the town site in 1912, the same year Frank and Hannah Nixon built their farmhouse on a small citrus ranch nearby. The city incorporated on November 2, 1967. About three in four homes are detached single-family houses, and more than half of them were built in the 1970s and 1980s.

Yorba Linda homes and what they mean for storage

• Town Center and Park Avenue: the historic core around Main Street, between Imperial Highway and Yorba Linda Boulevard, where the city's older houses sit under mature shade trees. Their compact reach-ins gain room from a drawer stack under the hanging and a second rod set above the first.
• Vista del Verde: a planned development on the city's northwest edge, laid out around Black Gold Golf Club. A golf bay on one garage wall, with a slot for the bag, a shelf for shoes and a bin for balls, keeps clubs ready without taking over the floor.
• Horse-keeping neighbourhoods: residential zones that permit horses on parcels of at least 15,000 square feet, close to more than 100 miles of city trails. A garage or mudroom wall with boot cubbies, helmet hooks and a bench gives riders a place to change before stepping inside.

Yorba Linda has called itself the Land of Gracious Living since at least the 1920s, and over eight in ten homes are lived in by their owners, so many households have years of holiday decorations to keep. Overhead garage racks for labeled bins, with a cabinet below for wrapping paper and ribbon, keep each season sorted and the floor clear.
