Custom Closets & Organizers in Murrieta, CA

Murrieta takes its name from Juan Murrieta, a sheep rancher who in 1873 joined partners in buying about 52,000 acres of ranch land in the valley. In 1884 the Temecula Land and Water Company bought 14,500 acres from him and laid out a town site beside the California Southern Railroad, and that grid around Washington Avenue is still known as Historic Murrieta. The city incorporated on July 1, 1991. Today the 1884 town site, gated communities such as Greer Ranch and large rural lots zoned for horses all sit inside the same city limits, so no two closet plans here start in the same place.

Murrieta homes and what they mean for storage

• Historic Murrieta: older homes on downtown lots as small as 7,000 square feet along Washington, First and Second Avenues, where a single bedroom closet may be the only built-in storage. Fitting it with double hang and a column of drawers means one less piece of furniture in the room.
• Greer Ranch: a gated community planned in 1995 with larger homes from the 2000s and roomy primary walk-ins. A dressing-room layout with an island or a bench, long hanging and shelving for bags and shoes suits the space.
• Specific-plan neighbourhoods: family tract homes in areas such as The Vineyard, Murrieta Highlands and Murrieta Springs, with several secondary bedrooms. Reach-ins in each one can be fitted to the person using it, from a teenager's hanging space to a guest room's linens.
• Large-lot and rural residential areas: homes on half-acre to multi-acre lots where zoning allows horses and the garage often doubles as a workshop. A workbench with cabinets above and pegboard on the wall keeps tools sorted and off the floor.

Murrieta households average more than three people, so closets get shared, handed down and reassigned, and they need to change as the people do. Adjustable rods and shelves that move up as kids grow, plus drawers at a reachable height, keep a child's closet working for years.
