The valley's housing tells its story in decades. Paradise Palms, developed by Irwin Molasky and completed in the 1960s, is described as the first planned community in Clark County, with mostly single-story mid-century homes of around 2,000 square feet. Architects such as Franklin and Law built homes in the John S. Park neighborhood in the 1940s and '50s. Then came the master-planned era: Summerlin, at about 22,500 acres with more than 20 villages, along with Henderson's Green Valley, Cadence and Inspirada. Whichever decade your house is from, its closet doors are probably the ones it was built with.
- Sliding and bypass doors: top-hung panels that carry their weight from above rather than rolling through a floor channel full of grit.
- Bifolds: for narrower openings, built to stay on their track.
- Room dividers: to close off a walk-in or an alcove that was never a proper closet.
- Finishes: mirror, frosted glass, flat panel and wood-grain, coordinated with the closet system inside.
